School board elections may not always make the front page, but school board elections are vital to influencing local education in our communities. School board trustees help decide how resources are used, what academic priorities are set, and how your voice is represented in district decisions.
Below is a guide to school districts in and around Harris County with trustee elections in 2025 — and what to watch out for.
Districts with 2025 Trustee Elections
Houston ISD (HISD) – November 4, 2025
District V: Maria Benzon; Robbie McDonough
District VI: Kendall Baker; Michael McDonough
District VII: Audrey Nath; Bridget Wade
District I: Felicity Pereyra (unopposed)
District IX: Myrna Guidry (unopposed)
Cypress-Fairbanks ISD (CFISD) – November 4, 2025
Trustee Positions 5, 6, and 7 will be on the ballot.
Spring ISD – November 4, 2025
Several trustee seats with expiring terms will be contested.
Humble ISD – May 2025
Positions 1, 3, 4, and 5 were on the ballot. Some races were close, and there was a later eligibility dispute.
Spring Branch ISD – May 2025
Positions 5, 6, and 7 were contested.
Pasadena ISD – May 3, 2025
Trustee Position 1 was contested (Mary Davis vs. Paola Gonzalez).
Clear Creek ISD (CCISD) – May 2025
District 1 and At-Large B positions were on the ballot.
Why You May Not See Every District Listed
If you do not see your school district or seat listed, it might be due to:
Staggered Terms – Not every school board trustee’s term ends the same year.
Uncontested / Unopposed Candidates – If only one person filed, the race may not appear on the ballot.
Different Election Dates – Some districts elect trustees in May rather than November.
Special Governance / State Intervention – In rare cases, local election authority may be modified or limited.

Early Voting: October 20 – 31, 2025
Mail Ballot Application Deadline: October 24, 2025
Election Day Voting Hours: 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.
